Oxford American dictionary defines Omnivore as "one that's eats both plants and meat", and Dilemma as "a undesirable or unpleasant choice". According to Michael Pollan that's exactly what happens when we know and understand how the food we eat gets on our plate. The Omnivore's Dilemma is not meant to scare anyone but is meant to open our eyes, and when we look at our food with open eyes we give ourselves more options.
